The Arizona Cardinals have made their second outside signing of the day.

After signing cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, the Cardinals are reportedly bringing on DT Bilal Nichols for a three-year, $21 million deal according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

$14.4 million of the deal is guaranteed.

Nichols is a former fifth-round pick and will be 28 years young when the 2024 regular season gets underway. He initially entered the league with the Chicago Bears but spent 2022 and 2023 with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Nichols has played in 94 career games with 14 sacks, 118 solo tackles and two forced fumbles to his name. According to Pro Football Reference he aligned as a defensive tackle in Las Vegas but also has operated as a defensive end and nose tackle previously in Chicago.

Last season, he recorded a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs after recovering a Patrick Mahomes fumble.

Arizona desperately needed help along the defensive line, and the Cardinals hope Nichols' 6-4, 313 pound frame can assist in stuffing the run while also getting to the quarterback.

Nichols hasn't missed a game in four seasons and has played above 50% of defensive snaps since his rookie season.

The Cardinals, along with Murphy-Bunting, have also re-signed Jesse Luketa, Greg Dortch, L.J. Collier and Carter O'Donnell this offseason.
