Kansas City Chiefs DE George Karlaftis hit an important career milestone against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.
Karlaftis played a huge part in the team's 25-17 win, providing unrelenting pressure on Bengals QB Jake Browning in the fourth quarter. His efforts produced two sacks in the fourth quarter, bringing his total up to 11 sacks for the 2023 NFL season.
It's his first career double-digit sack season, which is a big milestone for the season-year edge rusher. The 22-year-old is the first non-Chris Jones defender for Kansas City with 10 or more sacks in a single season since Dee Ford did so in 2018.
The best part about it all is that the record-breaking sack came against his former teammate, who now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals. Check it out:
Orlando Brown Jr. left in the offseason after he couldn't agree to terms on a long-term extension with the Chiefs. His new team saw their playoff hopes dashed by Kansas City, and Karlaftis, who looks to be a cornerstone edge defender. If that's not poetry in motion, I'm not sure what is.
