Chiefs, Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown unable to reach long-term deal ahead of Friday deadline

Five hours ahead of the 4:00 p.m. Friday deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term deals with their respective teams, it was reported that the Kansas City Chiefs and offensive tackle Orlando Brown were unable to reach an agreement.

According to Spotrac, "it's expected" that Brown will "soon" sign his franchise tag with Kansas City, but Pelissero isn't so sure.

It was reported Thursday that already-tagged tight end Dalton Schultz and the Dallas Cowboys weren't expected to reach agreement on a contract extension.

Brown spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens — earning Pro Bowl honors in 2019 and 2020 — before being traded to the Chiefs in April 2021 and securing his third straight Pro Bowl nod last season.
