The Indianapolis Colts have pushed wide receiver Ethan Fernea and linebacker Liam Anderson from the practice squad to the 53-man roster for Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Colts posted on X: “We have elevated LB Liam Anderson and WR Ethan Fernea to the active roster from the practice squad.”

For Fernea, this is nothing new, as over the past month he’s been assigned to the practice squad and elevated to the active roster for gamedays a few times now. Fernea has also been on the Colts since 2022 out of UCLA and has seen very limited on-field opportunities. He’ll get another shot after being activated to the main roster.

However, Anderson gets a golden opportunity with depth linebacker Cameron McGrone getting the doubtful injury designation due to illness.

Anderson is a rookie linebacker from Holy Cross and will potentially get some action on the field, likely on special teams. As far as the depth chart, he’ll likely be where McGrone was, which is as a SAM linebacker alongside Grant Stuard.

The Colts are looking to win at home on New Year’s Eve against a daunting Raiders defense, which just smothered the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes last week.

We will see if either Fernea or Anderson gets a chance to make an impact in an important game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
