Could Steelers add another brother duo this offseason?

While The City of Brotherly Love sits in eastern Pennsylvania, the major city at the other end of the state has been embracing the motto. 

The Pittsburgh Steelers have had multiple pairs of brothers over the past couple of seasons. Some recent brother duos to be on the Steelers roster include Cam and Conner Heyward, T.J. and Derek Watt, Terrell and Trey Edmunds and Carlos and Khalil Davis. They may add another before the start of the 2023 season.

Pittsburgh signed guard Nate Herbig to a two-year, $8 million deal in free agency and his brother, Nick Herbig, just so happens to be in this year's draft class.

Nick Herbig would fill a position of need for the Steelers, making the potential pairing possible. The Wisconsin product is an edge rusher, and since LB Bud Dupree, whom the team showed interest in, signed with Atlanta, Pittsburgh is still in need of depth at the position.

The 21-year-old could certainly be that after posting 108 tackles, 20 sacks and three forced fumbles from 2021-22. He would also provide the Steelers with insurance if they were unable to re-sign LB Alex Highsmith to a contract extension as he is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

Things worked out well for Pittsburgh the last time it selected an edge rusher from Wisconsin in T.J. Watt. 

Nick Herbig is projected to be a day two pick in the 2023 NFL Draft as he ranks as Pro Football Focus' No. 58 overall prospect. The Steelers have three day two picks with Nos. 32, 49 and 80.
