Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb doesn't practice ahead of Broncos game due to ankle injury

The good news for the 6-1 Dallas Cowboys is that they are currently set to have starting quarterback Dak Prescott back in the lineup for Sunday's game against the 4-4 Denver Broncos after the signal-caller missed the Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings due to the strained right calf he suffered on Oct. 17 before Dallas' bye. 

It appears, however, the Cowboys may be without a different offensive weapon on the first Sunday of November. 

Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy previously told reporters that star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb sprained his ankle during Wednesday's practice and would be limited on Thursday. Per the club's website, Lamb did not practice Thursday, and his status for the weekend is up in the air. 

Prescott performed like a true Most Valuable Player candidate throughout much of the campaign before his injury, but losing Lamb would unquestionably be a setback against the Denver defense. Per ESPN stats, Lamb leads the Cowboys in receptions (39), targets (57) and receiving yards, and his 609 yards is good for eighth in all the NFL this fall. He also has four touchdown catches and 18 rushing yards on four carries. 

As for Prescott, he confidently told reporters it's "safe to say" he's playing against Denver.
