Dolphins land former Cowboys WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. on three-year, $22.8M deal

The Miami Dolphins bolstered their offense Monday by adding free agent wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr., according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

Wilson, 26, will reportedly sign a three-year, $22.8 million deal with the Dolphins with $12.75 million guaranteed when free agency officially begins Wednesday.

The 2018 sixth-round pick spent his rookie season with the Dallas Cowboys on injured reserve and played sparingly in his second season. Wilson began emerging later during his time in Dallas and had a breakout year in 2021 with 45 receptions, 602 yards, and six touchdowns. The former high school quarterback also threw five passes on trick plays and contributed as a punt returner.

Miami could use help offensively after finishing last season 22nd in points scored and 25th in total offense. The Dolphins receiving corps was led by rookie Jaylen Waddle, who finished with more than 1,000 receiving yards.
