Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson went after Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts ahead of his big match at WrestleMania. At WWE World in Philadelphia, Johnson was booed by fans because he was late. In true heel Rock fashion, Johnson revealed the reason why he was late for the event in a way that made fans angry.
“Are you sure you want to know why The Rock was late?” Johnson asked the fans. “He was watching YouTube watching Jalen Hurts lose in the playoffs again.”
Johnson is referring to the Eagles losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round of the playoffs in Janurary. The year before that, Hurts and the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Johnson made the comment to get heat from the fans before he teams up with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, which will take plact at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Apr. 6, and Sunday, Apr. 7.
Jalen Hurts has big goals in 2024
Hurts has proven to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL based on what he’s done the last two seasons. But to take that next step and became a champion, the former Alabama and Oklahoma QB knows he has to play better in 2024.
“I think this year has taught me so much,” he told reporters following the playoffs loss in January, per NBC Sports Philadelphia. “The first thing that you do is you look yourself in the mirror, you look at what you could have been better at, how you could have led better, how you could have executed better.
“And those are all things that internally light a fire in me. So you have challenges in front of you. You do everything in your power to self-reflect and control what you can and learn from it. So that’s my No. 1 desire, just to learn from everything and be the best that I can be moving forward for everybody in this locker room and in this building.
“I look myself in the mirror before I do anything else. And that’s just being better on my part. … You have to continue to evolve not only as a player but as a man, as a leader. So these are all great responsibilities that I love. I love everything that comes with it and I wouldn’t rather do it in another place.”
