Eagles, All-Pro center Jason Kelce agree to one-year deal worth $14 million

Four-time First-Team All-Pro center Jason Kelce wasn't ready to say on Wednesday morning whether he would return to the Philadelphia Eagles for at least one more campaign or ride off into the sunset after spending 11 NFL seasons with the organization that selected him during the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. With the help of a trusty beverage, Kelce announced the following day he would be running it back with the Eagles.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport offered specifics on Kelce's new deal ahead of the weekend:

As noted by Pro-Football-Reference, Kelce hasn't missed a game or start since the 2014 season but will turn 35 years old this coming fall and already has one Super Bowl title on his resume. Nevertheless, he remains one of the very best assets at his position and seemingly could play beyond the 2022 season.

However, he admitted Wednesday during an appearance on local radio station 94.1 WIP he's eager to spend additional time with his wife and two young children and that he would never want to "regret" returning to the league for one more year "if something happens," such as an injury. Kelce's latest contract won't silence speculation he's already thinking about life beyond football, but such discussions can wait until next winter.

Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions is now second on the list of the league's highest-paid centers. Ragnow's contract carries an annual average value of $13.5 million.
