Eagles' Jason Kelce holds off on future decisions following Super Bowl LVII

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce held off on a decision for the 2023 season during a Wednesday edition of the New Heights podcast.

"Man, I can't answer that right now. No chance," Kelce said when discussing potentially retiring following the 2022 season. "We'll answer that soon enough, I guess. I don't know the answer to that right now. So I can't answer it.

"I do know it was a lot of fun this year. I had an amazing team and time doing this show with my brother, so we'll see. I'm gonna let the batteries recharge. I'm exhausted, man. It's a long season, mentally, physically, emotionally drained, and I'm gonna let all that kinda recover before we decide on that."

It may be far too early to panic about Jason Kelce's future with Philadelphia. But after the Eagles lost both of their coordinators after being just within reach of winning a Super Bowl, the team will need to keep as many of its previous players and staff on hand if they want to go for another championship run.

Kelce has spent 12 seasons with the Eagles, playing and starting in 176 games after he was selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL draft. The 35-year-old center earned six invitations to the Pro Bowl games and five All-Pro invitations in his 12-year NFL career.

Rookie center Cam Jurgens has played in limited snaps on both special teams and on offense. He peaked at 11 offensive snaps against both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans in 2022, according to Pro Football Reference. Though both him and Kelce are listed on the team's salary grid, Kelce has a void year in 2023.

Jason and his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, became emotional following the 38-35 Chiefs win in the Super Bowl.

"Ironically, you lose the Super Bowl, and you're crying after the game, and they're not tears of sadness. They're tears of joy," Jason said.

"That's why you're the best, brother," Travis replied.
