Brothers Jason and Travis Kelce have become some of the most expressive and candid players in the NFL. But a recent moment during their popular “New Heights” podcast was a little different.

Sunday marked the first Super Bowl to have two brothers pitted against one another. So there was no avoiding one walking away with the ultimate feeling of jubilation, and the other looking on in a stunned state of disbelief.

It’s why Donna Kelce, the mother of Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, had the awesome quote that she would be “rooting for the offense” on Super Bowl Sunday whenever pressed for an answer.

The Kelce brothers made sure to find space for their podcast this week amid post-Super Bowl obligations. This latest episode was a bit more emotional as the elder brother (Jason) explained how much he enjoyed the spotlight being on their mother during Super Bowl week.

Donna Kelce was a huge hit with fans and media leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. Whether it’s been the care packages of cookies or her outstanding Chiefs-Eagles “split” gameday fits, it’s all been so wholesome and genuinely easy to embrace.

Everyone had hopped aboard in celebrating her, and the Eagles star got emotional speaking on the spotlight she received during Super Bowl week. An equally emotional Travis coming in for the save during multiple pauses is what any true loving brother would do. The video can be viewed below.

The quote that really stands out — and probably brought chills to those who have watched — came when Jason said, “Ironically, you lose the Super Bowl, and you’re crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness. You know, they’re tears of joy.”

Jason’s reaction to seeing his mother on the field tells the exact story of what he discussed. You’ll notice in the video below that when Jason first gets that tap on the shoulder he doesn’t initially realize who it is. Then, of course, upon seeing it’s “Mama Kelce” his eyes just close — almost in a sense of relief that someone so close to him has arrived — as they embrace with a big hug.

Win or lose, it doesn’t get much cooler than that.
