Eagles LB Haason Reddick will make unique NFL history with his next sack

Haason Reddick is quietly having a solid first season with the Philadelphia Eagles. And with his next sack, the linebacker can make unique NFL history.

As O.J. Spivey of the Philadelphia Tribune points out, Reddick is only one sack away from becoming the first player in NFL history to record 10 or more in three consecutive seasons with three different teams.

Reddick posted a career-high 12.5 sacks in 2020, his final season with the Arizona Cardinals, before following up his breakout year with 11 sacks in 2021 with the Carolina Panthers.

Ahead of Sunday's matchup against NFC East rival the New York Giants, Reddick leads the Eagles in sacks (9) and forced fumbles (3), ranks second in quarterback hits (16) and third in tackles for loss (6).

Reddick has a good chance of sacking Giants quarterback Daniel Jones on Sunday. Jones has been sacked 37 times this season, tied with Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson for the second-most in the NFL behind only Chicago Bears signal-caller Justin Fields (40).

Also, as of late, Reddick is on a bit of a hot streak. Over the last four games, the sixth-year pro has registered 15 tackles, eight quarterback hits and 3.5 sacks.

Reddick, a New Jersey native who played college football at Temple in Philadelphia, returned home in March, inking a three-year, $45 million free-agent contract with the Eagles.
