Pass-rusher Haason Reddick joining Eagles on three-year, $45M deal

The Philadelphia Eagles did well to keep four-time First-Team All-Pro center Jason Kelce for at least one more season via a deal reported on Friday to be a one-year agreement that makes the 34-year-old the NFL's highest-paid player at his position.

Philadelphia added a key figure on the other side of the football ahead of the official start of the new league year on Wednesday.

ESPN's Tim McManus and David Newton reported Monday afternoon that the Eagles will be acquiring pass-rusher Haason Reddick via a three-year, $45 million contract that includes $30 million fully guaranteed at signing. The New Jersey native, who played his college football with the Temple Owls, confirmed his next destination via Twitter:

Reddick originally joined the NFL when the Arizona Cardinals drafted him No. 13 overall in 2017, and the 27-year-old spent his first four seasons with the organization that declined the fifth-year option attached to his rookie contract before he tallied 12.5 sacks during the 2020 campaign. He spent this past season with the Carolina Panthers and led that team with 11 sacks. He was also second among Carolina players with 12 tackles for loss and tied for second with 18 quarterback hits.

Per McManus, the Eagles' pass rush was ranked the second-worst in the NFL with 29 sacks for the 2021 campaign.
