The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with some significant injuries heading into the postseason and quarterback Jalen Hurts has received some positive news about his.
Hurts suffered an injury to the middle finger on his throwing hand early in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants. His right middle finger bent awkwardly after some contact from Bobby Okereke on a 4th-down pass that fell incomplete (video here).
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hurts underwent hand X-rays that showed no fracture.
Hurts remained in Sunday’s game after suffering the injury, though he did not play well. He finished 7-for-16 for 55 yards and an interception in the 27-10 loss.
It is unclear how much the injury impacted him.
The Eagles travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers next Monday, so Hurts will have some extra time to rest. He and his teammates need it, as Hurts is not the only key Philly player who is battling an injury.
