The Birmingham Stallions are signing former Steelers defensive lineman Carlos Davis for the UFL season, the league announced.

Carlos Davis was the Steelers’ seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and he has spent two seasons with the team. The 6-foot-2, 320-pound defensive tackle played in seven games in 2020 as a rookie and appeared to be in line for greater playing time in 2021 before an injury in Week 1 caused him to miss the next 13 games.

The Steelers released Davis in August of 2022. Since then, he landed with the Atlanta Falcons and spent most of 2023 on their practice squad. But they decided to not sign him a reserve/contract, leading Davis to signing with the Stallions instead to get security in the spring league.

Davis is a 6-foot-2, 313-pound defensive tackle that went to Nebraska from Blue Springs, Missouri.

An eight-time letter-winner at Nebraska, Davis earned four in football and four in track and field. Along with his twin brother Khalil, it was the first time in over 50 years Nebraska had an eight-time letter-winner.

On the gridiron, Davis was a three-year starter on the defensive line after redshirting as a true freshman and playing in a rotational role as a redshirt freshman in 2016. In 46 total games, he made 125 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. He also forced two fumbles, recovered one and broke up eight passes.
