High winds to force Rams to practice at Rose Bowl on Thursday

As Mike Florio noted for Pro Football Talk, issues related to high winds impacted practice plans for the Los Angeles Rams in late November.

The Rams have now encountered a similar setback ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl LVI showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Per PFT's Myles Simmons, head coach Sean McVay confirmed during Wednesday's media availability that expected heavy winds in the area are forcing the Rams to shift Thursday's practice session from their facility to the Rose Bowl.

"We’re going to go practice at the Rose Bowl tomorrow. Made that decision a couple of days ago, kind of anticipating the winds," McVay explained. "If that’s the biggest inconvenience of playing the Super Bowl at home, that we have to get on a bus — we do that pretty regularly anyway going down to SoFi. So our guys will handle that great."

Like the Bengals, the Rams don't have an indoor facility at their headquarters. Last week, the reigning AFC champions temporarily relocated to the University of Cincinnati's indoor bubble to prepare for the Super Bowl that will be held at SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams.

"As a five-time home of the Super Bowl, the Rose Bowl Stadium is honored to host the Los Angeles Rams for a practice in advance of Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium," Rose Bowl general manager Darryl Dunn said in a statement shared by Pasadena Now.
