Jaguars, Cowboys, 49ers fined for OTA violations
Welcome to the NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have been fined for violating collective bargaining agreement rules regarding organized team activities.
The Jaguars were hit with a $200,000 fine, while both the Cowboys and 49ers received $100,000 punishments.
Additionally, Meyer earned his first fine as an NFL head coach. He's paying $100,000, while Dallas' Mike McCarthy and San Francisco's Kyle Shanahan lost $50,000 from their personal accounts.
ESPN's Todd Archer added the Cowboys lost an OTA workout for 2022.
In a statement shared by ESPN, the 49ers said: "The health and safety of our players is our highest priority, and we take following league rules very seriously. We will continue to work with the NFL and the NFLPA to ensure compliance."
As Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper noted, the exact violations weren't known as of the initial reports, nor is it clear why the Jaguars and Meyer received larger fines.
