Former West Virginia defensive back and assistant coach Jahmile Addae is heading to the NFL once again. Wednesday evening, the Buffalo Bills announced that Addae has been hired as the team's new cornerbacks coach.

During his playing career at WVU, he recorded 189 tackles and snagged eight interceptions from the 2001-05 seasons. He went undrafted in 2006 but did spent time on the practice squads of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts before making his return to Morgantown in 2007 to begin his coaching career as a grad assistant.

He worked in numerous roles at the beginning of his career, spending time at Michigan, Cincinnati, Arizona, and Minnesota before joining Neal Brown's staff in 2019 as the secondary coach. The following year, Addae added co-defensive coordinator to his title, working alongside Jordan Lesley. That year the Mountaineers allowed 291.4 yards of total offense per game which ranked 4th nationally and No. 1 among all Power Five schools. In addition, West Virginia finished the 2020 season No. 1 in pass defense allowing just 159.6 yards per game through the air.

He left Morgantown for an opportunity with Georgia in 2021 and then on to Miami the following year. The former Mountaineer has ruffled a few feathers since his departure, bringing Tykee Smith with him to Georgia and played a massive part in Daryl Porter Jr. and Akheem Mesidor's decision to go to Miami.
