It was an MVP performance for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. He and his dynamic wide receiver duo, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith torched the Washington Commanders defense en route to a 24-8 win.

The score was closer than the actual game. Hurts threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with Smith, Brown, and tight end Dallas Goedert for touchdowns.

Hurts performance may have been on the road, but he did so with a legion of Eagles fans in the stands. Philly fans travel well and made the two-hour-plus trip to Landver, Maryland where the Commanders play at their home stadium, FedEx Field.

As he ran off the field to the locker room, Hurts was greeted with “MVP” chants from fans.

Hurts certainly is an MVP candidate. He has been amazing through the first three weeks.

Hurts has completed 67.3% of his passes for 919 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He also has rushed for three touchdowns and avoided a fan tossing an apparent beer bottle.

The MVP chants are an exclamation point to a great day for the Eagles and a dreadful one for the Commanders.
