King of Props: Brown can deliver the green

Having two NFL games to watch on a Monday night had historically been limited to a doubleheader capping the opening week. But this year, the league has given us a pair of games in Week 2 and they’re largely on opposite each other. While the action kicks off at 7:15 Eastern Time with the 1-0 Bills hosting the 0-1 Titans, it’s the 8:30 battle between the unbeaten Vikings and Eagles that provides our top prop play:

The bet: Over 5½ receptions for Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown (DraftKings)

Playing a dependent position, receivers need the right circumstances to maximize their talent. In his three seasons with the Titans, Brown experienced injuries, middling quarterback play, and a run-centric offense focused on feeding Derrick Henry. Still, over last year’s three-game stretch against AFC playoff teams (Bills, Chiefs, Colts), he keyed three victories by averaging 8.3 catches for 126 yards.

Now Brown is the featured receiver in a creative passing attack that’s quarterbacked by his good friend, Jalen Hurts. The duo showed their tremendous potential in a Week 1 shootout with the Lions. Brown was thrown 13 passes — good for a 45% target share — and caught 10 of them for 155 yards.

Minnesota’s starting cornerbacks are the declining Patrick Peterson and the unproven Cameron Dantzler. In front of the Philadelphia faithful and a national TV audience, Brown should be able to dominate them tonight.
