King of Props: Here’s to you, Mr. Robinson
The last game of Week 10 appropriately features the last remaining unbeaten team. If the 8-0 Eagles are going to keep their record unblemished – and keep the ’72 Dolphins from popping champagne – they’ll need to earn a second win against the Commanders, whom they beat 24-8 in the third game of the season. At that point, NFL fans had yet to witness the debut of the player we’re backing for tonight’s top prop:
The bet: Over 4½ receiving yards for Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. (DraftKings)
A third-round pick out of Alabama, Robinson had the start of his rookie season delayed by a harrowing incident in which he was shot multiple times during an attempted robbery. But since being activated, he has gotten a steady workload as part of a three-man committee in the Washington backfield.
The most accomplished pass catcher of the trio, JD McKissic, will miss a second straight game due to a neck injury. That leaves Robinson essentially splitting touches with Antonio Gibson. Each back recorded two catches in last week’s loss to the Vikings, but both of Robinson’s went for negative yardage, which keeps this number low.
In his senior season with the Crimson Tide, Robinson caught 35 passes for 296 yards. If he even approaches that 8.5-yard average on a single reception tonight, our bet cashes.
