King of Props: Hunter will be a gatherer
More than 2,600 miles separate Foxborough, Massachusetts, from Glendale, Arizona, which represents the longest distance between NFL cities that are only two time zones apart. The Patriots have now made the trip west four times since a state-of-the-art stadium was opened in 2006, but this is just their second game against the Cardinals there. The other two visits were for Super Bowls, and as the team looks to climb above .500 in pursuit of another playoff appearance, we like one of its pass catchers to deliver our top prop:
The bet: Over 30½ receiving yards for Patriots tight end Hunter Henry (DraftKings)
After posting 50 receptions for 603 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021, Henry has endured a disappointing second season in New England. But his opportunities have increased following a slow start under a new play caller, and he has gotten at least 50 yards in four of his last eight games.
On the other side tonight is a defense that’s been especially generous to opposing tight ends. With respect to the position, Arizona ranks dead last in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns allowed.
Henry had seemingly found the end zone twice in his last road game, but his second TD catch versus the Vikings was overturned, keeping his yardage total at 63. New England’s leading receiver, Jakobi Meyers, saw limited snaps that night due to taking some hard hits and will miss this game because he hasn’t cleared the concussion protocol.
Having again ascended in the pecking order, Henry should see enough volume to pick up the needed yards.
