Early in the offseason, there were some rumors that Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury’s job status was in question for 2022. That has passed, and owner Michael Bidwill suggested that he expects Kingsbury to get better going forward.

Bidwill said Friday that Kingsbury has needed time to adjust to the NFL, and that the expectation is that further improvements will come going forward.

Kingsbury is getting a long leash from Arizona if his growth is still being cited after three years in the NFL. The big issue is the fact that Kingsbury teams have a consistent record of fading in the second half of seasons, a problem that dates back to his college career.

There were postseason rumors of a heated meeting between Kingsbury and his bosses, though the Cardinals have tried to downplay this. Either way, Kingsbury will be under a bit of extra pressure in 2022.
