Kyler Murray: 'I wanna win Super Bowls with the Cardinals'

A report from last week claiming the Arizona Cardinals hadn't yet made a contract offer to two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray amid his desire to put pen to paper on an extension was followed by suggestions that other teams were "monitoring" his status with his current employer.

The situation took an interesting turn this week when cornerback Patrick Peterson and running back Chase Edmonds, Murray's former Arizona teammates, hinted during a podcast episode that they believed the 24-year-old could look to leave the Cardinals in his pursuit to routinely win on football's biggest stages.

As Myles Simmons noted for Pro Football Talk, Murray heard those comments and took to Twitter to respond:

Earlier on Thursday, Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said there is "zero chance" Murray gets traded. The signal-caller seemed to be a fan of that update:

Simmons wrote that both Keim and head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters they've recently had conversations with Murray, who didn't attend the start of the team's voluntary offseason program. Assuming Arizona picks up Murray's fifth-year option, his rights will be under team control through at least 2023, not including franchise-tag years.

In short, Murray and the Cardinals likely need each other, for better or for worse, through at least January of next year.
