Sporting a 5-7 record and still hovering around the dregs of the AFC standings, your Los Angeles Chargers are aware that they need every win they can get.
To wit, with a matchup against the 6-6 Denver Broncos, another AFC West hopeful, on the horizon for this weekend, 11th-year Bolts GM Tom Telesco and the rest of the club's front office are making some marginal personnel changes.
Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports that Los Angeles has opted to cut wide receiver Simi Fehoko. LA has also inked running back Elijah Dotson to the team's practice squad.
Fehoko, 26, spent his first two seasons out of Stanford with the Dallas Cowboys. He was a practice player for the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this year, but later made LA's standard 53-man roster. Though the 6'4", 218-pound receiver played sparingly for the Bolts, Fehoko did have a notable moment during his brief tenure with Los Angeles, recording his first-ever NFL touchdown (a nine-yard affair) during LA's eventual Bears win.
Dotson, 24, went undrafted out of Northern Colorado in 2022. The 5'9" back was a two-time All-Big Sky First Teamer during two of his four seasons with his previous college program, Sacramento State. The Chargers represent his first NFL opportunity.
