The Las Vegas Raiders are upgrading their passing scheme

The Raiders are looking to improve their pass-catching abilities for the 2024 season after deciding to pass on drafting a quarterback. With the No. 13 pick, the Raiders drafted tight end Brock Bowers to pair with Michael Mayer. They’ll join a formidable wide receiver duo of Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.

Former Dallas Cowboys WR Jalen Guyton signs with the Raiders

According to a statement by the Raiders, on Monday, the team signed unrestricted free agent Jalen Guyton:

Guyton joins the Silver and Black after spending the last five seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers (2019-23). Last season, Guyton played in eight games and posted 10 receptions for 89 yards and one touchdown…

A native of Allen, Texas, Guyton played two seasons at North Texas (2017-18) after spending time at Trinity Valley Community College (2016) and Notre Dame (2015). He played in 26 games for North Texas and posted 103 receptions for 1,580 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The Cowboys initially signed Guyton as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent the 2019 training camp and preseason with the Cowboys before they cut him at the end of August. He signed to the Chargers practice squad in October of 2019.

Guyton has 71 receptions for 1,112 yards and seven touchdowns in his NFL career. He had two solid seasons in 2020 and 2021. He suffered an ACL injury during the 2022 season and was not activated to the 53-man roster until last November.
