Lions QB Jared Goff questionable to face Bears Thursday

Shortly after head coach Dan Campbell told reporters Tuesday he was "leaning" toward starting quarterback Jared Goff when the 0-9-1 Detroit Lions host the 3-7 Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving afternoon, Goff said the oblique injury that kept him out of this past Sunday's loss at the Cleveland Browns would "probably" make him "a game-day decision" on Thursday.

It appears Goff's assessment was the more accurate of the two.

Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Goff is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's clash. Simmons adds Goff would have been limited had Detroit held full practices instead of walkthroughs this week, which leads one to believe backup Tim Boyle is closer to making his second consecutive start than Campbell previously suggested.

Boyle had a rough outing in Cleveland. He completed just 15-of-23 attempts for only 77 yards, no touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. It's worth noting, though, that the 27-year-old wouldn't have to worry about the type of cold and wet conditions he endured on the shoreline of Lake Erie if he has to face the Bears inside Detroit's Ford Field.

If Goff sits Thursday, he'll work to get right for the Week 13 matchup versus the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 5.
