Longtime Cincinnati Bengal announces retirement

It feels as though no player on the Bengals would want to call it a career as the team feels closer than ever to a Super Bowl championship, but one did on Friday.

Cincinnati's veteran punter Kevin Huber announced his retirement on social media after an impressive 14 seasons in the NFL, all of which were with the Bengals.

"The past 14 years have been beyond my imagination and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Bengals organization," Huber said in a statement. "I may be signing off as #10, but you better believe I'll be in the jungle chanting "Who Dey" alongside you all."

Huber finished his career with 1,011 punts, 45,766 punting yards and 346 punts inside the 20. However, most notably, he's hanging up his cleats after playing in the most games ever in Bengals history (216 games) after passing CB Ken Riley (207 games) in 2022.

"For as long as this franchise has been around, I have now played more games than anybody else that's come through that door. There's a lot of great players that have played here," Huber said. "The fact that I'm from here, never left here and now I can say I hold the record, it's a pretty special thing to hold onto."

The 37-year-old will now pass the torch to what seems to be his potential replacement in Brad Robbins, Cincinnati's sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Although, it's hard to picture the kid from Cincinnati not punting for the Bengals in 2023.
