Melvin Gordon won't travel with Broncos due to strep throat diagnosis

The Denver Broncos still are traveling this weekend to take on the Patriots despite a New England player testing positive for the coronavirus on Friday,

Denver will be traveling a little lighter, though. According to Mike Klis of 9News, Melvin Gordon will not fly with the team to New England because of a strep throat diagnosis.

Following the update from Klis, fans began to speculate whether or not Gordon actually has strep throat. The 27-year-old was cited on Tuesday for driving under the influence, and people believe the Broncos are trying to somehow cover for him.

While that could be the case, Gordon isn't expected to appear in court until Nov. 13, so it's more likely that he actually has strep throat.

Gordon leads the Broncos in rushing through four games with 65 carries for 281 yards and three touchdowns. He signed a two-year deal with Denver this past offseason after spending the first five years of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers.
