Packers' Aaron Rodgers calls Patriots' Bill Belichick best coach of all time

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick offered some high praise for Green Bay Packers quarterback and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers on Monday as those two clubs prepare to face off at Lambeau Field this coming Sunday. 

Rodgers returned the favor while speaking on "The Pat McAfee Show" Tuesday afternoon. 

"He's the best coach of all time," Rodgers said of Belichick during the segment, per Andrew Gould of The Spun. "He's a legend, living legend. He's been ahead of the game for a long, long time. He makes incredible in-game adjustments ... whatever it takes." 

Rodgers also called Belichick, who guided the Patriots to six Super Bowl championships during his tenure when Tom Brady was his QB1, "a fantastic coach" during the interview. 

"You never know exactly what you're going to get, but you got to be ready for all of it," Rodgers added about Belichick's tactics. 

As Ryan Gaydos noted for Fox News, Belichick spoke highly of Rodgers during a Monday appearance on Boston sports radio station WEEI. 

"He’s very smart. A very good athlete," Belichick said of the four-time NFL MVP. "He’s got very good quickness and the ability to avoid and escape guys in the pocket to extend plays. Really no weaknesses with the player at all. Tremendous amount of experience in game situation management. He’s as good as there is.

"Glad he’s in the NFC and haven’t had to face him more than we had because he’s always been a problem. And looks like he’s playing extremely well again as he always does. It’ll be a big challenge for us defensively this week. Not just him, but (running back Aaron Jones) and the entire offense. It’s a good offensive team. They’re well coached. They have a lot of good players, and they have a great, great quarterback."

By all accounts, the 1-2 Patriots will be up against it at the 2-1 Packers this Sunday, as New England starting quarterback Mac Jones will likely miss at least that game due to the reported high-ankle sprain he suffered in this past Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Veteran journeyman backup Brian Hoyer is the next man up on the Patriots depth chart ahead of rookie and fourth-round draft choice Bailey Zappe.
