The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were two yards away from tying things up in the waning seconds of their Week 3 contest against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Moments later, thanks to a crushing delay of game penalty, they were seven yards away, and after the ensuing unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt, the Packers had all but wrapped up their eventual 14-12 victory.
Following the game, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers made headlines with some comments regarding the situation.
"They should've on the previous play too, it was a delay on both plays," Rodgers said. "Sometimes you see things in a game. Sometimes the jumbotron shows things they probably shouldn't show, even at home. I just saw something, I just passed on the information."
The two-time reigning MVP didn't elaborate on what he saw, but Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said on Monday that he was going to look into the issue.
Bowles said he'll be meeting with operations staff with the Bucs about what should and shouldn't be shown on video boards during games, with talk that Aaron Rodgers saw something that helped Packers strategically on final plays Sunday.

Bucs said they have reached out to the NFL for clarity on why the play clock was started from 20 seconds before initial two-point conversion, then 25 seconds the second time after a delay penalty. Said regardless, they need to get the ball snapped in time to avoid penalty.

Todd Bowles on the play clock on two-point conversion: "One time it said 25, the next time it said 20. We're looking into it right now. We'll send it in, see what they say. We've got to get the ball off. We've got to be cognizant of that."

Here's the explanation on what transpires with the play clock following a touchdown, according to the Football Zebras account.
Following a touchdown, the 40 sec clock runs as soon as the touchdown signal is dropped. If replay has not confirmed the score, the play clock will hold at 20, and resume on the ready for play. Teams well aware of this mechanic and has been in place for a few years https://t.co/3KwPgY0a3q
