Packers not entertaining Aaron Rodgers trade despite rumors?

Hours ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars making the first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst seemed unimpressed by the ESPN report that quarterback and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers does not want to start another home game at Lambeau Field.

Gutekunst said earlier in the week that Rodgers will "be our quarterback for the foreseeable future," and NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report there is "zero" chance the Packers will trade the future Hall of Famer.

Rapoport added that the Packers and Rodgers recently discussed terms of a potential contract extension but that the two sides "aren't close" to an agreement.

Pro Football Talk is linking Rodgers with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders in updated trade rumors, but Gutekunst has little, if any, incentive to agree to a transaction he doesn't like during the draft. Rodgers is 37 years old and signed through 2023, meaning he doesn't have many options other than holding out unless he's serious about becoming the full-time host of the popular quiz show "Jeopardy!" as soon as this year.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter says no team had made a real offer for Rodgers as of 4:30 p.m. ET Thursday.
