Pair of key Bengals begin offseason with surgeries

The Bengals have two players who began their offseasons with surgery: OT Jonah Williams and DE Joseph Ossai.

Williams underwent knee surgery after dislocating his kneecap this season. The procedure is expected to keep it from happening again, and he should be fully cleared by June.

Ossai had surgery on his shoulder after suffering a torn labrum that he played through this year. He is expected to make a full recovery as well.

Do either of the injuries have potential to affect their futures' in Cincinnati?

It's very unlikely for Ossai's case. The 22-year-old showed promise, posting 17 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries as a rookie.

However, the same might not be able to be said for Williams, who is entering the final year of his contract in 2023.

Williams allowed 12 sacks and was penalized four times, according to Pro Football Focus. The 2023 NFL Draft seems to be pretty rich with offensive linemen if the team wants to start planning for the future at the position.

However, you must give credit where credit is due. The 25-year-old missed just one game as the Bengals made their way to their second straight AFC Championship Game in 2022.

Whichever way Cincinnati decides to go, both players should be ready to go in 2023 despite the medical procedures.
