Pat McAfee reveals if he knows what Packers' Aaron Rodgers will do in 2023

The person who presumably is Aaron Rodgers' favorite media member apparently doesn't know what the Green Bay Packers star quarterback will decide to do regarding his NFL career.

Per the Barrett Sports Media website, Pat McAfee insisted during Tuesday's edition of his show that individuals associated with the program "legitimately know nothing" as it pertains to Rodgers' plans.

"People think that we would be the people that know stuff," McAfee admitted while reacting to a report from ESPN's Dan Graziano about New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, general manager Joe Douglas, head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett flying to California on Tuesday to meet with Rodgers about a potential trade.

There are multiple reasons fans would assume Rodgers would give McAfee some inside information. The future Hall of Famer is a weekly guest on "The Pat McAfee Show" during NFL seasons. Plus, Rodgers told McAfee last month that league insiders such as Graziano, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and ESPN's Adam Schefter are not in his "inner circle" and "don’t know s---" about him. Additionally, A.J. Hawk is a co-host of "The Pat McAfee Show" and was Rodgers' teammate with the Packers for nine years.

Hawk assured McAfee he doesn't know Rodgers' intentions, while McAfee suggested he'd spoil the news on the air if he had it.

"People have to know that I know nothing," McAfee said. "Even though people assume I do know stuff, I do not. I literally do not."

Rodgers somewhat controversially used a four-day "darkness retreat" this winter to help him determine if he wants to play for any team in 2023 or retire. Back on Feb. 27, McAfee revealed he hadn't heard from Rodgers since the signal-caller ended that isolation period.

It was said late last week that it was "shaping up as Packers, Jets or bust for Rodgers" ahead of the start of the new league year on March 15. The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player theoretically could use next Tuesday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show" to officially and publicly announce his plans to the world just in time for the first day of free agency.
