Philadelphia Eagles name Fan of the Year
No one wants to be called to the principal's office, but it was the place to be on November 10th for Eagles fans at Mount Pleasant Elementary School.
As Principal Auerbach began to read the morning announcements on Thursday, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham popped in to inform Auerbach that he was just named the Philadelphia Eagles 2022 Fan of the Year.
Auerbach was surprised and understandably thrilled. He had no idea the award was coming but didn't hesitate to break out the memorabilia scattered throughout his office once the announcement was made.
Mount Pleasant Elementary is a small K-5 district in Wilmington, Delaware with just over 700 students and 54 teachers. It was nice to see an educator get recognized, but it was even better to watch the students share the experience with him.
As part of the award, Auerbach receives tickets to Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. He's also eligible to win NFL Fan of the Year. Voting takes place on NFL.com where you can check out his bio and meet the other contestants.
Principal Auerbach is one of the few contestants without a costume or face paint, but looks can be deceiving. The man once shaved his head into a green mohawk for the kids. He'd be an excellent choice for the award so please consider giving him your vote.
