The Las Vegas Raiders announced three roster moves on Wednesday.
The club has waived 2023 seventh-round draft pick, defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera. Correspondingly, it signed defensive tackle Marquan McCall to the practice squad and released cornerback Troy Pride from the practice squad.
Silvera played just two games for the Silver and Black this season -- Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers and Week 9 against the New York Giants. He recorded just two combined tackles between the two contests.
Silvera was the Raiders' last of their nine picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. The young defensive tackle had recorded a career-high 56 tackles in his final collegiate season in 2022, his only season with Arizona State. He had transferred to ASU after playing four years at Miami.
Silvera finished his collegiate career as a 2020 All-ACC Honorable Mention and 2022 All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention.
McCall is in his second year in the NFL. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in April of 2022. This past August, McCall was waived by Carolina and picked up by the New England Patriots before being waived the very next day due to a failed physical.
The former Kentucky Wildcat played in 16 games for the Panthers last season, having posted 15 combined tackles, two of which were for losses.
Pride played just one game for the Raiders this season, their Week 5 win over the Green Bay Packers. He took the field for just one special teams snap.
Pride was signed to Las Vegas' practice squad back in September after he had been released by the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 29. He entered the NFL as a 2020 fourth-round draft pick selected by the Panthers after playing four seasons at Notre Dame. This season and his rookie season were his only active regular season campaigns.
The Silver and Black will return to action versus their AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Christmas Day at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Don't miss it on Monday, December 25, at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST.
