Ravens GM sheds light on receiver position

The Ravens have had one of the least productive receiving units in the NFL for some time. General manager Eric DeCosta acknowledges the hard truth and says it will finally be addressed this offseason.

"It's certainly something we're going to look at," DeCosta told reporters. "We definitely took on some water this year at that position. We'll continue to look at that via free agency and the draft."

Baltimore was the third-worst team in receiving yards this season (3,202) and it didn't have a receiver eclipse 500 or more yards all year, per ESPN.com.

The Ravens did have multiple injuries to the room in 2022, and they traded WR Marquise Brown to the Cardinals last offseason. However, it proves their lack of depth at the position.

If Baltimore can bolster its receiving room, DeCosta believes his team isn't far off from a Super Bowl.

"Our goal is to build the very best team we can build," DeCosta added. "We think we're very close to building a championship team."

The Ravens officially pick at No. 22 in the 2023 NFL Draft. Interestingly, the last and only time they picked at that spot, they took a wide receiver.

The organization has faced a lot of scrutiny for not giving QB Lamar Jackson more help. If it's finally planning on doing so, 2023 could be a big year for Baltimore.
