Ravens part ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman

“After visiting with coach Harbaugh and after huddling with my family, I have decided that now is the right time to move on from the Ravens so that I can explore new challenges and opportunities,” Roman said in a statement. “I’ll truly miss Baltimore, but at the same time, I am excited to attack my next opportunity with focus and passion.”

Baltimore had the No. 16-ranked offense in the NFL in 2022, ranking second in rushing offense, 28th in passing offense, and 19th in scoring offense. 

The Ravens’ best season under Roman come in 2019 when they led the NFL in scoring (33.2 points per game) and rushing (206 yards per game), and they had the No. 2 overall offense in the NFL (407.6 yards per game).

Under Roman’s guidance, the Ravens set several single-season NFL records including most rushing yards by a team (3,216), most rushing yards by a quarterback (1,206), highest average possession time per game (34:47), and most games with 200 or more rushing yards (six), plus the NFL record for most consecutive games with 100 or more rushing yards (43).

Quarterback Lamar Jackson had a career year in Roman’s first as offensive coordinator in 2019, throwing for 3,127 yards, rushing for 1,206 yards, and leading the NFL with 36 touchdown passes. Jackson was named the NFL MVP, as well as earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
