Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have set their sights on nothing less than a championship this season, and there’s no doubt about it. Even Jackson himself is candid about the high expectations.

As the Divisional Round of the playoffs kicks off this Saturday with the Texans-Ravens showdown, Jackson openly discussed the immense pressure to secure a Super Bowl victory this year in a conversation with The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec.

“I remember coming into the building with all of those guys. Now, it’s just like me, Gus (Edwards) and Mark (Andrews). We had so many guys. It was incredible, man. They’re all around the league right now and we’re not in the same locker room anymore. It’s crazy. It made me sit back and realize, ‘Damn, I’m getting older. I’ve got to get a championship now.’ That’s one of the reasons I’m stressing that I need to win it. I’m not getting any younger. It’s best to win it now.”

When it comes to the postseason, Jackson acknowledges that he hasn’t met the mark for the Ravens.

In his four career playoff appearances, he has completed 55.9 percent of his pass attempts for 900 yards, tallying three touchdowns and five interceptions. Most notably, the Ravens have posted a 1-3 record in those four games.

Lamar Jackson is determined to alter the narrative surrounding him starting this Saturday against the Texans.
