Report: Eagles request interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy

The Philadelphia Eagles need a new head coach after firing Doug Pederson, and they haven't been shy about requesting interviews with some of the top available candidates.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Eagles have requested to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for their vacant head-coaching job. It's unclear when the interview will take place with Kansas City still in the playoffs.

Bieniemy played one season for the Eagles in 1999. He drew interest from the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets, but all of those teams have either hired a head coach or have zeroed in on one candidate.

Bieniemy is in his eighth season with the Chiefs and third as offensive coordinator. He previously served as the team's running backs coach from 2013-17.

The Eagles have interviewed Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, and New England Patriots assistant Jerod Mayo. They have also requested an interview with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
