Report: Giants trade with Broncos for CB Isaac Yiadom
Ryan O'Halloran of the Denver Post reported on Wednesday that the New York Giants are sending a 2021 seventh-round draft pick to the Denver Broncos for cornerback Isaac Yiadom.
As Mike Klis of Denver television station 9News pointed out, Yiadom, a third-round selection from the 2018 NFL Draft, started for Denver in Week 1 of the 2019 campaign. However, he dropped on a loaded depth chart this summer during training camp sessions and, in the eyes of the Denver front office, was worth more in a transaction than on the roster.
The 24-year-old will receive an opportunity to restart his career with the Giants, as Big Blue is lacking depth in its secondary even after New Jersey native Logan Ryan put pen to paper on a deal with the club earlier this week. Giants rookie safety Xavier McKinney is out indefinitely after he fractured the fifth metatarsal on his left foot, and Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post is reporting the Giants are expected to release 2019 first-round pick Deandre Baker following his arrest back in May.
Baker, 22, is facing multiple charges and, potentially, a lengthy prison sentence if found guilty.
In early August, CB Sam Beal opted out of the 2020 campaign
Across 29 regular-season games with the Broncos, Yiadom compiled one interception, 63 total tackles, and seven passes defended.
