Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has pin removed from finger

Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson underwent surgery last month to repair an injury to the middle finger on his throwing hand and has been sidelined for the past three games.

As Jelani Scott noted for the NFL's website, Wilson took to Twitter Monday to confirm he's had a pin removed from the injured finger:

Backup Geno Smith guided the Seahawks to a comfortable 31-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but that result only improved Seattle to 3-5 on the season ahead of the bye. It's believed Wilson wants to return to the lineup for the matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 14, but coach Pete Carroll wasn't prepared to promise anything when speaking with reporters Monday.

"Really, we are just kind of hoping for the best in terms of his return, that everything is handled really well as we get him in mode where he starts to use his hand and his finger with the football and all that," Carroll said of Wilson. "We've just got to do a good job and see what happens. There's no updates as of now."

The Seahawks lost two of three games without their QB1.
