Should Steelers reunite with 'Alien' playmaker?

The Steelers struggling offense could use any help it can get, which has some believing the team could reunite with one of its best playmakers of the Ben Roethlisberger era.

Former Steelers WR Martavis Bryant, who last played in the NFL for the Raiders in 2018, has been reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell. Pittsburgh should do its homework on the veteran, who is reportedly working out for the Cowboys on Tuesday, before it's too late.

Bryant was drafted in the fourth round by the Steelers in 2014 and had 126 catches for 1,917 yards and 17 touchdowns with them from 2014-17.

He was suspended for four games in 2015 and for the entire 2016 NFL season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The soon-to-be 32-year-old earned the nickname "Alien" after making several acrobatic catches during his tenure with Pittsburgh. He and WR Antonio Brown were one of the best wide receiver duos in the league during the span.

Bryant is, of course, not what he used to be. But adding him to the Steelers young arsenal of weapons would only help the offense, which is averaging the third-worst points per game (16.6) and the fourth-fewest total yards per game (278.5) in the league.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver last played for the Vegas Vipers during the XFL's 2023 season. However, he did underwhelm as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 XFL Skill Players Draft, posting just 14 receptions for 154 yards and zero touchdowns in eight games.

Only time will tell if Pittsburgh is interested in a potential reunion with Bryant, but if it is, it clearly isn't the only team who is open to adding the "Alien" to help its 2023 efforts.
