Steelers add Brian Flores to coaching staff
The Pittsburgh Steelers have hired former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores as their new senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach, multiple sources reported on Saturday.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin praised Flores following news of the hire, saying his resume "speaks for itself."
Flores does in fact bring a ton of knowledge to his new role with 14 years of NFL coaching experience under his belt. After spending four seasons as part of the Patriots' scouting department, he coached various parts of New England's defense before becoming the Dolphins head coach in 2019.
Miami fired Flores at the conclusion of the 2021 season. He later sued the NFL, Dolphins, New York Giants, Denver Broncos and later the Houston Texans for allegedly conducting racially biased hiring practices, adding that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross offered him money to "tank" games, or lose on purpose.
