INDIANAPOLIS — Steelers safety Trenton Thompson suffered an injury on a big run by Tyler Goodson. Goodson landed on top of Thompson, who stayed on the ground for the moments afterward. He ended up heading back into the blue medical tent, where he was evaluated and diagnosed with a stinger. Thompson is questionable to return to the game, and this comes with the team already down two safeties.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is out for the rest of the game with a knee injury. Damontae Kazee has been ejected from the game for a massive hit on Michael Pittman. Pittman is out for the rest of the game after being diagnosed with a concussion. Colts running back Zack Moss joined him as being declared out with arm injury.

Fitzpatrick collided with teammate Trenton Thompson while breaking up a pass in the second quarter. He stayed down on the field, with trainers examining his left leg.

He walked off the field under his own power, and was taken to the medical tent on the Pittsburgh sideline for further evaluation.

The only safety left on the active roster is Miles Killebrew. Pittsburgh could do some creative things, like play Patrick Peterson back there and rotate into some more sub-packages, but nothing will fully ease what is happening to the Steelers, who just lack any safeties to actually play.

Peterson moved to free safety to replace Fitzpatrick, with Levi Wallace entering the starting lineup at corner to fill in for Fitzpatrick. Thompson replaced Kazee at strong safety, and Killebrew is the only other safety on the roster.
