Steelers sign another linebacker

The Steelers have completely rebuilt their inside linebacker room after the group didn't force a single turnover in 2022 and they added to the revamped unit once again Friday morning.

Pittsburgh is signing former Seahawks LB Tanner Muse, a third-round pick by the Raiders in 2020.

Muse, who is still just 26, has been mainly a special teamer throughout his career, playing 70 percent of special teams snaps for Seattle last season. He only had 16 tackles and one pass defensed in 2022 but he was available for every game.

The move makes a lot of sense as the Steelers have lost a lot of special teams contributors in free agency. Muse will help fill that void while still having the ability to fill in at inside linebacker due to potential injuries.

Interestingly, Muse is now the highest-drafted player in the group as he joins linebackers Cole Holcomb (fifth-round pick) and Elandon Roberts (sixth-round pick) who recently signed with Pittsburgh this offseason.

The Steelers may not be done adding to the room quite yet either. With the 2023 NFL Draft right around the corner and three picks in the top 50, Pittsburgh is primed to continue retooling its roster for 2023.
