The Tennessee Titans would like to have another run at a Super Bowl appearance after squandering a great opportunity last season.

They had home-field advantage in the Divisional Round only to lose to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Mike Vrabel‘s crew shot themselves in the foot despite having nine sacks on Joe Burrow.

Ryan Tannehill‘s interception ended their hopes of winning it all and wasted Derrick Henry‘s return from a foot injury.

However, they’ve decided to move forward while reminiscing one of the best moments in franchise history.

The team’s official Twitter account playfully said that their fans are getting old because Treylon Burks is the first Titans draft pick born after the Music City Miracle.

That football play occurred on January 8, 2000 during the Titans’ Wild Card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

With time running out, tight end Frank Wycheck threw a lateral pass across the field to Kevin Dyson.

A sea of blockers ensured that Dyson would reach the end zone for a touchdown.

However, controversy immediately shrouded that play because it looked like a forward pass.

If that’s the case, the pass to Dyson would have been invalid.

The decision remained and the Titans won the game, 22-16.

But as some sort of poetic justice, the Titans lost Super Bowl XXXIV to the St. Louis Rams when Mike Jones tackled Dyson one yard short of the goal line.

Burks Replaces Brown

Meanwhile, the former Arkansas standout was born on March 23, 2000.

He was taken by the Titans with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 draft.

Tennessee got that pick by trading A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the 18th and 101st overall selections.

Burks was part of the 2021 First-Team All-SEC after finishing with 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Titans hope that he can fill the void left by their Pro Bowl wideout.
