Tom Brady discusses commitment to joining Fox next NFL season

It sounds like retired quarterback Tom Brady remains committed to serving as Fox's lead NFL analyst beginning next season.

"I love preparing for this new opportunity at Fox and broadcasting," Brady explained recently on "The Stephen A. Smith Show," per the Barrett Sports Media website. "[I have] talked to some amazing people who have given me great information, and now it’s about taking the time to really prepare and get out there and give people what they want, which is to add my perspective to the game every single week."

Brady and Fox agreed to a 10-year deal reportedly worth $375M in 2022 before the seven-time Super Bowl champion decided to take a "gap year" away from the NFL after he retired from playing a second time. Many in the sports community have publicly expressed doubts Brady will ever work as a full-time broadcaster, but he insisted as recently as last month he's learning about the type of commentator he wants to be while watching games from home.

"Certainly I love being a good teammate, and I’ve surrounded myself over the years who advise me the right way [and] brought me into the right areas for growth; things that I couldn’t have had happened if I had not met these particular people," Brady told Smith. "I love health and wellness; longevity. I love sports, and that’s what I want to be involved in for the rest of my life."

Brady joked in October that his family would "kill me" if he strongly considered making yet another comeback to the playing field after he turned 46 years old in August. For what it's worth, former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak reported this week the Minnesota Vikings "reached out" to Brady and learned he is "done" playing after Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending torn Achilles on Oct. 29.

Brady's working relationship with Fox may be "complicating" his desire to become a limited partner of the Las Vegas Raiders, but that situation could be settled during league meetings scheduled for next month.
