Joe Burrow has the opportunity to notch a rare accomplishment if he and the Cincinnati Bengals can beat the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl. That accomplishment would be so impressive, even Tom Brady thinks it might not be topped.

Jim Gray, who hosts Brady’s “Let’s Go!” podcast, relayed a great one-liner from the quarterback at the end of the most recent episode. While interviewing Burrow, Gray revealed that Brady had some career advice for the Bengals quarterback if Burrow succeeds in becoming the first player to win a Heisman Trophy, college football championship, and Super Bowl.

“Before we came on the air, Tom said something that gave me quite a chuckle and he probably didn’t want to say it because of the sensitivity around it but I can, I’ll repeat it for him,” Gray told Burrow, via Jake Rice of the Bengals’ official website. “He said, he hopes you are the first person to win the Heisman Trophy, a college football championship and a Super Bowl. He said if that happens, you should go out on top and retire.”

Brady would have been making the joke while the football world was still waiting to hear his retirement plans. He ultimately announced his retirement less than a day after the podcast aired.

Burrow has obviously had a great start to his NFL career, and it’s no surprise that Brady would be a fan. Burrow’s attitude, in particular, seems a lot like something Brady would respect. That goes for the resume as well. After all, Brady never won the Heisman, though he was a backup for the 1997 Michigan team that claimed a share of the national title.
