Bengals QB Joe Burrow: Pinky injury doesn't impact throwing technique

Cincinnati Bengals second-year quarterback Joe Burrow has become a household name for guiding the franchise to a Super Bowl berth coming off the serious knee injury he suffered in November 2020. Burrow isn't completely healthy heading into the Super Bowl against the Los Angeles Rams, as the dislocated pinky finger on his throwing hand he suffered back on Dec. 5 is still somewhat of a nuisance this winter. 

According to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Burrow told reporters Thursday the setback is "something I’ll be dealing with the rest of the season until I give it a break" but added it shouldn't be a problem two Sundays from now. 

"It doesn’t bother me throwing the football anymore," the 25-year-old said. "But I still notice it doing everyday things."

One wouldn't know Burrow has been troubled by an injury involving his throwing hand as of late. Across his three playoff wins, he completed 75-of-109 passes (68.8%) for 842 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. He also added 28 rushing yards on nine attempts over those victories. 

FanDuel Sportsbook lists Burrow at +230 to earn Super Bowl Most Valuable Player honors as of Thursday afternoon.
